Mother Seton Council 17480 Hosts Silver Rose Prayer Service
Mother Seton Council 17480 hosted the Silver Rose Prayer Service on Tuesday, August 6th. It was attended by over 250 people. All District #17 Grand Knights, as well as a number of their council members, were represented. The Corpus Christi Assembly 2810 Fourth Degree Color Corp, led by SK Frank Consentino, added the reverence, and respect this ceremony deserved. The Knights on Bikes, Brothers Mike Grubb and Wayne Friday performed an excellent service by being responsible to deliver and process the Silver Rose with dignity and honor. District Deputy Greg Gully provided guidance on the organization of the Silver Rose Program to Council 17480 GK Ralph Esposito.
Rev. Robert Trujillo and Rev. Sergio Santos of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Palm Coast concelebrated Mass to start the program. They were assisted by Deacon Perlito “Tom” Alayu. Following Mass, Fr. Trujillo invited all attendees to remain for Eucharistic Adoration and a rosary dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Brother Wayne Friday presented the Silver Rose before an image of the Tilma of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He personally built the display stand for the Silver Rose. Cantor Cody Biggs led the congregation in songs of praise for the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration.
Scripture readings on the Annunciation were read in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. An Act of Consecration to Mary was recited by all. This was followed by the singing of the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Members of the Faithful were then invited to make a private visit before the Silver Rose and image of the Blessed Mother.
A reception was held in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish Hall at the conclusion of the program. Brother Joseph Lupo prepared an excellent meal for all attendees. for accepting the task of being the sponsoring council for this event.
District Deputy Gully stated he wanted to thank Regional 2 Administrator, William Kelly, for handling the logistics to allow District #17 to host the Silver Rose. He also offered thanks to the Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Rev. Jose Panthaplamthottiyil, for allowing the use of his parish for the prayer service.
